Education
For Mortuary Science I'd have to attend Wayne State University. To be a Mortician I will need to take 4 years of college and 1 to 3 years of apprenticeship. After I complete schooling, then I'd have to take the licensing exam. I will need atleast an Associates Degree in Mortuary Science, though a growing number of employers prefer applicants to have Bachelor's Degree. The sost would depend on the tuition and each credit hour.
Classes needed to take:
-Chemistry
-Professional ethics
-Anatomy
-Public speaking
-Microbiology
-Pathology
-Embalming
-Mortuary law
-Funeral Service Psychology and Counceling
-Restorative art
-Federal regulations
*Most funeral homes will not accept you without you having schooling and passing your licensing exam, so you really can't jump right into the field*
